~ WELCOME ABOARD: Spring is in the Air!
=============================================================

Spring is in the air. Bluebird skies, warm sunshine and a pleasant breeze. Surely the boating season can't be far off?

We've had a busy week at ShipStore with our normally Benicia-based (as in California) tech wonk, Mark Engelhardt, on-site for meetings, database upgrades, and a good dose of North Country mud season. On Saturday we took a scenic ride across Lake Champlain on the ferry between Essex, NY and Charlotte, VT, on our way to dropping Mark off at the airport. Off and away to California, right?

Almost. First off Mark got bumped onto a later flight in exchange for two complimentary round trips anywhere in the continental United States. Not bad considering we'd had a conversation only the night before about our collective perception that the airlines only seem to be giving away low value cash coupons instead of full flights nowadays! So Mark tucked in and worked for a couple of hours then lined up for security clearance to board his rescheduled flight. Lo and behold, one of his laptops tested positive for explosives during the screening process! After a bit more rigorous screening and a barrage of questions they decided Mark wasn't a security risk. Hmmm, okay...

In other news, the ice - what little of it that there was this winter - is now officially out on Lake Champlain. Global warming murmurs were more and more prevalent these last few months as we experienced the mildest winter in my recollection. The ice fishermen never even made it out onto the lake, and I saw two fishing boats just south of Essex this past weekend. The seagulls are out in force, the Canada geese are flying north in broad, squawking V's and a porcupine has begun chewing the treated lumber of my deck.

Oh, and it's time for another "Clear the Deck" sale. Download and print the sale flyer here:

It's time for our fifth "Clear the Deck" Clearance Sale. Bigger and better, new and improved... take it from me, this two-stage CTD is our best yet!

Can you believe that it's already been two years since Enten Pfaltzgraff Eller won the ShipStore.com "Name the Sale" contest with his creative submission?

Time sure does fly when you're having fun. And what's more fun than practically giving merchandise away? What?!?!

Are you a new subscriber? Or maybe you'd just like a little refresher on how the "Clear the Deck" Sale works? Twice each year we empty our warehouse to make room for new merchandise. That means that twice each year ShipStore.com offers unbeatable prices on some of our most popular items. We spread the deals over two newsletters to help us keep up with the flood of orders, so watch your email inbox for part two next week.

We're slashing prices on our most popular seasonal items. A few of important reminders before you start ogling the good deals:

1. All orders subject to stock on hand. These amazing deals are only valid until our stock is depleted!
2. All "Clear the Deck" items are final sales unless defective from the factory.
3. There will be no backorders. "Ship or cancel" policy in effect.
4. First come, first served. (Note: This could mean you order an item which shows in stock, but someone places an order just ahead of you and you are unfortunately out of luck. We'll email any shortage notices to customer promptly and void those items from your order.)
5. As items sell out, we'll remove them from the list. We'll keep the list as current as possible and will be changing it daily through the end of the sale.
6. The "Clear the Deck" Sale only lasts for two (2) weeks, so order now.

That's all you need to know. Good luck, and we'll update you next week.
