2 April 2003. Our first landfall after leaving Mattituck, Long Island.

The trip took us under the Throgs Neck Bridge, through Hell Gate with perfect timing, around the tip of Manhattan at rush hour. We counted over 30 ferries running in the harbor, plus barges, the Coast Guard and many other commercial ships.

We tied up for the night at the 79th St Boat Basin and managed to stay up late enough for this photo.
