RACK STEERING SYSTEMS feature helm unit that incorporates machine cut pinion gear which engages pre-assembled rack and cable. Drives an armor-stranded core for minimizing steering effort. Twin cable systems recommended for boats exceeding 50 mph or experiencing steering instability from engine flutter. Features standard 3/4" tapered shaft, 4 turns for standard travel, optional wedge kits for mounting flexibility and stainless steel cable output ends that minimize corrosion. Exceeds BIA certification and ABYC safety standards. For applications of boats up to 24', steering wheels up to 16", single and dual engines, outboard runabouts, bass boats, jet boats, pontoons, small cruisers and houseboats.

BACK MOUNT RACK PACKAGES include helm SH5098, bezel SB27447 and rack cable SSC124. Systems give boater feeling of total control and reliability. An ideal replacement for most other systems. For boats up to 24' and wheels up to 16". Direct replacement for Morse, OMC and Detmar. Length: 14 feet.
