Since the 1700's, when Admiral Fitzroy took Charles Darwin to the Galapagos Islands on the HMS Beagle, the stormglass has been used for predicting weather one to two days in advance. It requires no batteries or programming and works indoors or out. Variations in the crystal formations from day to day signify what weather changes to expect.

The Weems Stormglass is packaged in a handsome velvet-lined black gift box with brass mounting accessories. Our unique design allows the base to be used as a wall mount (to enable either wall or counter/table top fixed mounting).

The Stormglass can also be mounted on an attractive and informative display plaque crafted from pure American hardwood in a mahogany finish. An engraved plate, which acts as a key, illustrates each phase of weather predicted by the Stormglass.
