I'm sitting in a blue vinyl (could it be "hyde" of the wild Nauga?) seat at gate #8 at Burlington International Airport in Burlington, Vermont. Tensions are running a little high ever since an oh-so-sweet voice crackled over the speakers announcing, "United flight departing to Chicago O'Hare has been delayed indefinitely."

A collective sigh ran through the waiting room. But about fifteen minutes later the voice updated us, a little less sweet this time, " United flight departing to Chicago O'Hare will be delayed for three hours." Passengers swarmed the boarding desk to grumble and begin juggling the connections that they would miss in Chicago.

For me, the news isn't quite such a nightmare. Chicago is my final destination. For a couple of days at least. And since Burlington International Airport (BTV) offers free wireless internet, I figured I'd settle in for a little productive time. After all, I'd hoped to send out the Beacon on the ferry ride across Lake Champlain, but the rolling waves crashing across the bow of the ferry distracted me.
